Gevora Hotel towers over the current world record holder by a few inches
Dubai’s hospitality industry is booming. Recently, we told you about the new Bulgari hotel which swung open its doors in December, and last week we revealed to you the plans by Raffles Hotel to build a hotel on the Palm which will feature the world’s highest sky pool.
Dubai already holds the record for the world’s tallest hotel. The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai located in Business Bay soars to 355.35 metres over the ground. For a city that already boasts the world tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and another structure currently under construction which will be even taller than the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Creek Tower, skyscrapers are the norm. No wonder that with a total of 226 skyscrapers, the UAE was recently ranked fourth among the top 10 countries in the world with the most number of skyscrapers.
Now, there’s another hotel located in the Trade Centre area on Sheikh Zayed Road which is soon going to open to the public and will steal the thunder from the JW Marriott Marquis. The new world’s tallest hotel title will be conferred upon Gevora Hotel. At 356 metres, Gevora inches over Marriott, but only just. Still, Gevora will be nearly three times taller than the Big Ben and over 50 metres taller than the Eiffel Tower.
The 75-storey Gevora Hotel has a total of 528 rooms. The rooms range from deluxe rooms up to two-bedroom suites and will vary in size from 46 square metres to 85 square metres. There are four dining options in the hotel including a coffee shop, an all-day diner, a fine-dining Mediterranean restaurant and a pool bar. The hotel has a luxury spa located on the 71st floor and several other facilities including a health club, a Jacuzzi and kids’ pool as well as separate gym for men and women.
Gevora Hotel is walking distance from the financial hub of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and a few minutes drive from Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa. With an expected Q1 2018 opening, it’s a no-brainer where you should book your next staycation in order to take the experience to new heights.
