Perched on the 15th floor of Emirates Financial Towers, this expansive space is split into an intimate bar with ambient lighting, an open kitchen where fresh crustacean and produce are displayed, and the dining area which boasts unrivalled views of the Burj Khalifa and Downtown area. When you manage to peel your eyes away from the tanks packed with crabs larger than the size of your palm, order appetisers. We highly recommend the cauliflower carpaccio with parmesan and truffle that offers crunchy, textured flavour-packed bites; and a selection of tartare – salmon with mango, langoustine with pomelo and yuzu, and scallops with papaya and cilantro. Each type is meaty with fruity and citrus notes that pair beautifully with the seafood. Bruschetta may seem like an option you could try just about anywhere, but the offering here comprises mashed avocado and juicy tomatoes, showcasing fresh ingredients in a simple manner.
For mains, you have to try a crab dish. We opted for the brown crab with garlic chilli sauce. Each leg was filled with meat that slid off the minute the shell cracked open. Olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes are evident in each bite, offering a mild spice that allows you to enjoy the fleshy meat. The spaghetti alle vongolle comes in highly commended too, with parsley and bottarga lending flavours to the perfectly cooked pasta. Celebrity chef Vladimir Mukhin – who is at the helm of the brand – has given the honey cake a twist, offering the layered pastry with sour cream ice cream and cherries – absolutely light and delish.
