Volvo has joined forces with Google to integrate its Android system into its next generation cars, thereby aspiring to provide customers with the best infotainment and access to a wide variety of apps and services. The brand aims to revolutionise the way Volvo drivers interact with cars by personalising the ride experience, while the Android system will increase flexibility in terms of in-car ambience. By providing the driver with a rich ecosystem while keeping the iconic Volvo interface, powered by Android, it will offer the driver access to apps to keep the driver “connected” to the outside world via the apps.

Another collaboration of Volvo with Google is to update recent Volvo models by adding Google Local Search, a location-based service application. This will be released through an update with customers through Sensus Navigation, a Volvo exclusive full-scale navigation map system.
