Calling all movie-buffs. Crypto, a Hollywood movie, is being filmed in New York city with a star-studded cast featuring Chris Hemsworth and Alexis Bledel

Cryptocurrency is gradually becoming a form of payment in major industries. Hollywood have jumped on the bandwagon, and have begun production in New York city of their latest movie Crypto. The crime thriller will feature some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Beau Knapp, Alexis Bledel, Kurt Russel, Chris and Luke Hemsworth, as well as TV stars Vincent Kartheiser from Mad Men, and Jeremie Harris (Legion).

The plot centres around a young anti-money laundering agent (Knapp) tasked with investigating a tangled web of corruption and fraud in his remote New York hometown, where his father (Russell) and brother (Hemsworth) are struggling to maintain their family farm in a changing economic landscape. The agent quickly finds himself entangled in a hazardous underworld populated by a mysterious art dealer (Bledel); a crypto-currency enthusiast turned cyber-sleuth (Harris) and a corrupt accountant bidding for ruthless clients (Kartheiser).

The thriller is being directed by John Stalberg Jr. – who previously directed the 2010 movie – High School. The production house, Yale Prods’, comprises Jordan Yale, Jordan Beckerman and David Frigerio. They have taken it upon themselves to deliver to the audience a crypto-themed film that is both thrilling and distinct in terms of storytelling. The indie-movie has been written by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio and was inspired by the original story written by Jeffrey Ingber.

Dope– a well-received 2015 movie – also featured cryptocurrency. However, Crypto will be the first cryptocurrency movie to be made on a grand scale. We look forward to Hollywood taking on cryptocurrency and weaving the concept into a cinematic experience.
